The tourism industry’s success in 2024 extended beyond visitor numbers, driving growth across various sectors:
- Digital Expansion: Tourism Fiji saw a remarkable 313% surge in website traffic, surpassed one million social media followers, and generated over two million YouTube views within a month for its latest brand videos.
- Major Events: High-profile international events like the return of the Corona Surf League (WSL) Fiji Pro, the Spartan Fiji Trifecta, and the country’s first-ever NRL match reinforced Fiji’s position as a premier sports tourism destination.
- Global Recognition: Fiji earned a spot as the #3 must-visit destination for 2025 according to Lonely Planet and was named the #1 island in the South Pacific by Condé Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards.
